In a time of evolution and significant changes within the Group, BPER Banca aimed to implement a workplace strategy in their new corporate headquarters in Milan, located in the prestigious Diamantino building within the Porta Nuova district. The objective was to create a flexible, efficient, and sustainable working environment that supports employee performance, optimizes the digital experience, and fosters greater engagement and a sense of belonging to the company culture.
In collaboration with JLL's Project & Development Services and Workplace Strategy teams, we supported the client throughout this transformational process by defining new design guidelines for the workspaces and outlining an Employee Experience that reflects the ambitions and identity of BPER Banca.

For the look and feel of the new headquarters, which spans four floors of the building, we proposed a modern and sophisticated aesthetic that conveys the brand's values and solidity. We combined the typical work requirements of a banking institution with a commitment to aligning with the latest trends in the working world that prioritize individual well-being and its needs. The dynamic, interconnected, and open spaces promote communication among people, enhancing a sense of belonging, work quality, and relationships.
The concept of a "smart" workplace formed the basis of the project and workplace strategy, with a spatial distribution designed to cater to the company's activities. The approach to space utilization is activity driven, including shared areas in open spaces and unassigned workstations. To optimize the digital experience and make spaces more accessible, reservation systems for meeting rooms and workstations, as well as state-of-the-art audio/video devices, enhance the experience for teams working both in-person and remotely, facilitating interaction and teamwork.
A variety of areas and supports for group work, individual activities, formal and informal settings, such as meeting rooms of various sizes, office&meet spaces, phone booths, and work-cafés, invite people to choose the most suitable workstation for their tasks, allowing employees to enjoy maximum comfort throughout the day. This is emphasized through the incorporation of biophilic elements, the use of organic materials, textures, and patterns, attention to acoustic performance in spaces, natural lighting, and the choice of neutral tones accentuated by splashes of color in shades of green and warm hues, all contributing to creating a positive, welcoming, and rejuvenating atmosphere.
The result is an agile and sustainable environment that meets the needs of a diverse workforce and promotes a hybrid work model, with a focus on the health and well-being of individuals, respect for the planet, and technological innovation. This supports the company in achieving its ESG goals and attracting and retaining new talents.
