Kurmi Software, a specialized software publisher, entrusted Tétris with a turnkey Design & Build and Furniture Solution project, with a 4-month deadline to transform their 560 m² space within Urban Quartz in Rennes into a modern work environment that reflects their image.
In full expansion, Kurmi Software wanted to leave their shared premises for a space of their own, requiring the design of new spaces and a custom layout charter.
The challenge of this layout was multifaceted: integrating Kurmi Software's strong identity while adopting a CSR approach and optimizing the interior layout to promote productivity, comfort, and collaboration between teams.
To meet Kurmi Software's needs, Tétris developed an office design concept combining technology and nature, reflecting the balance between innovation and the company's identity, proud of its origins.
At the heart of the workspace design, an open-plan layout is centered around a central island that serves as a meeting room, embodying Kurmi Software's collaborative philosophy. These workspaces promote spontaneous exchanges, essential for innovation in the development of their activity.
The design concept skillfully integrates Kurmi Software's visual identity, with bold orange touches and wallpaper with assertive patterns, selected by the employees. These bursts of color are balanced by neutral tones, creating a stimulating and comfortable environment that highlights the natural light from the glass wall. This stimulates creativity without compromising visual comfort. The renovation work, which included a complete overhaul of the floor, aimed to open up the space to maximize natural light and showcase the view of Rennes. The signage, particularly for meeting spaces, was custom-designed with Kurmi Software's involvement and references Breton cities chosen by the employees. Finally, workstation ergonomics are ensured by height-adjustable desks, and a dynamic lounge area has also been set up. It offers a space for relaxation and informal brainstorming, crucial for an innovative company like Kurmi Software.
The CSR approach was implemented by repurposing their old office furniture into islands that serve as meeting rooms and by installing an eco-designed carpet with a neutral carbon footprint and excellent acoustic performance.
The success of this space planning project relies on the synergy between Tétris's design & build expertise and Kurmi Software's vision, reinforced by a co-design approach. The result: an office layout that meets the functional needs of employees while embodying the values of innovation and environmental responsibility.
This new workspace positions Kurmi Software as an attractive player in Rennes' tech sector, offering an inspiring and motivating environment for its teams.
