When global pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo needed to create a space to attract and retain talent, they appointed us to help them deliver a flexible space to allow for growth and to set a standard for future offices in the UK and overseas. Our brief was to design and deliver a workspace that brought their mission to life, creating a space to enrich employee life in the office.
We worked closely with Daiichi Sankyo to do just this, incorporating elements of activity-based working so employees can choose how they work, including biophilia throughout the scheme to boost moods.
We designed a new workspace with the workforce at the centre, incorporating different areas for collaboration and focused work. These include social sports areas with pool, darts and Peloton bikes; the Studio, a tiered seating area designed for chilling out, large team events, lone and small-group working; and the Garden with rich and luscious artificial grass and wood-finished columns.
We built a strong relationship with our client and focused on leading the design from concept to completion. A hands-on approach and regular site presence allowed for the quick resolution of issues arising during construction to deliver a bold and striking design that provides collaborative space and multiple work settings - an environment that staff did not previously have in their serviced office.
