Randstad, world-leading HR company, contacted us to design and build a unique space in the heart of Madrid's financial district. Fundación Randstad is committed to equal opportunities for people with disabilities through awareness-raising, training and transition to employment.
Our challenge was to capture their essence - the Randstad DNA - in a 100% accessible empowering space that promotes talent setting a role model. Our success? The satisfaction of the employees who live in their new office.
The whole concept of the new office lies in this powerful company DNA and the links between the dynamic functional spaces and the users - with all kinds of disabilities - to generate an empowering kickstarting environment to help people achieving their best position in the job market.
This centre has therefore been designed to be fully accessible, both physically, cognitively and sensorially, following accessibility and usability criteria far superior to the standards of current regulations.
As soon as you enter, a spacious entrance hall welcomes the visitor, guiding them along a tactile flooring to the reception desk. Its accessible audiovisual devices and a tactile map of the office guide and inform the visitor of current and upcoming events.
From this same entrance you can see the amazing agora, a concentric space for talks and presentations, the real heart of the project and the Foundation.
All operational desks are located next to the large windows, taking advantage of sunlight and natural ventilation, while the concentration stations are reserved for a quieter, more isolated area for individual work.
Finally, the semi-circular space of the cafeteria is isolated to avoid the interference of sounds and smells with the activities of the employees, also used as a rest and disconnection area.
