Syngenta required their new offices in Rabat to embrace the science-based agritech company’s purpose of bringing plant potential to life while providing employees with a range of activity-based workspaces that focused on the comfort of the end user. Informal and formal meetings spaces with contemporary international style combined with references to local Morocco culture were required for this global company’s workspace.
The design for the space references the aerial view of cultivated fields, a successful outcome of the clients seed and sustainable fertilizer products and provides a rich environment filled with plants, natural light, warm timber shelving and detailing.
The central feature in the cafeteria with its informal meeting spaces is a modelled tree and the play of hanging plants in the ceiling lattice work and woven light features creates the impression of the dappled shade of leaves and foliage. Increased meeting space for the company was provided with a range of meeting rooms and a mini auditorium alongside open collaboration spaces and hot desking workstations. The modulated shades of green were applied in traditional Moroccan geometric cement floor distinctly linking this project to its local context.
